Looking for a power amp

Right now I'm running the BBE BMax through the SWR
Headlite/Amplite. Speakers are two Eden DXST-210 8 ohm
cabinets. Seems like there's not enough headroom on the
SWR stuff. I'm thinking about getting either the Crown XTI2002 or the QSC PLX1804.

Shameless plug alert! I'm selling a Mackie 1400i stereo power amp if you are interested:Mackie 1400i, Trace Elliot GP7SM200, Acme B2. Sorry for the indulgence.
Never had to push the amp pass 12 o'clock.

Crest CA9. Heavy, 18" deep, old school pain in the a** to haul around and Crest is now out of business so good luck if it should have a problem. With all the lightweight modern alternatives there's no practical reason to use it.

But, IMHO, it's totally worth it.

I'll second the GX5. 700 watts/side into 4 ohms, QSC reputation for solidity. Not an ultralight like the PLX line, but manageable at 28lbs. They pop up on CL for $250 or so from time to time. I have one that I use for the subs in my PA. Does not support bridging, which doesn't matter to me as I've never seen the need for it.

If you can go with a bit less power, check out the Crown XLS line. The XLS-1500 is less than 10 lbs and will do 500 watts/side into 4 ohms. It can be bridged, providing 1500 watts into 4 ohms.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I picked up the GX7 at a pretty good price locally.
This thing rocks! Plenty of headroom, very clean and works great with the BBE BMax.
Put in a DBX 131 graphic EQ to help with tweaking the sound (more a gadget freak than
anything). Very tight and punchy, with the extended low end I was looking for.

I highly recommend QSC amps to anyone.
