Looking for a single 15 under 300.00

Looking for a single 15 cab to go with my GK Rb400 head. Its an older 80's RB40 but it sounds great. I prefer a more vintage tone.
Local GC has an accoustic Neo BA115 for 179.00 on clearance. They also have a used Berhinger 115 for 129.00

If its the BA115 it is not Neo and not that great a cab. I have the BA115 and leave it home most of the time as its too heavy and cant handle power.

If they have the B115 Neo cab available for $179 take it and run for that price. Its normally $400 and can handle 400W. A much better cab with rear ports.

Cheap cab = crap sound. You don't have to spend top dollar, but get a decent one, not Behringer crap or bottom of the line Acoustic.

Agreed. Be patient and shop around; I got my Ampeg B115Es for $280 each, shipped. That was when they were still listed at $399. I think they're right in your price range now.

I think you can get a used Bag End S-15D for right around $300. That'd be my first choice.

Ashdown 115 has unbelievable efficiency and vintage punch. Birch plywood construction, massive magnet speaker (but still not too heavy). If you like Bagend, but want 1/2 the weight and 1/2 the cost, try an Ashdown.

They're good, yeah. So are Hartke's better cabs like the AK and Hydrive. Any major company's top of the line cabs will be good, and a darn sight better than Behringer Whether you like them or not is a different story, and that's unpredictable.

Agreed, don't buy a new cheap.

Someone on my local CL has a Boogie diesel 2x15 cab for $300. Now that would be an awesome cab.

I'd get the Acoustic. The sound blew me away.

Which Ashdown cab are you referring to?

I picked up an Ashdown Mini 15 a few weeks ago to park behind the drummer. I didn't expect too much from this small cabinet but it totally impressed me. I would estimate the sensitivity at over 100 dB/W, and no bottoming or offensive noises cranking open E. A bit aggressive tone, but perfect for rock. Certainly worth the $130 I paid for it (including padded cover)!

Isn't 15 a little young, regardless of single or not?

This is what I gig. It is the very best combination I've played. I've gone from Crate to Peavey to Eden to Genz Benz and have settled on the classic S15D and GK400 RB. Sounds great loud. Sounds great soft. Lightweight. Great sensitivity, so amps sound good and full and loud through them.
