Is it loud enough?

Will an Ampeg BA600/115 (1 15", 600w) be enough for loud rock gigs without any PA support other than for vocals? I'm considering buying it, but as it lacks the ability to plug in an extension cab, I'm getting kinda scared and unsure.

Personally, I would want bigger. YMMV, though.

The wattage is there, but I would want more than a single 15" to fill a bar. Pass on it, and hook it up with a used 810 on Craigslist.

A good 410 will far outperform a 115. No need to break your back.

No, it won't be loud enough IMHO.

It's not so much wattage issue, but rather the speaker cone area that is not enough. It simply won't move enough air. Even if it's blasting in one end of the room, it will disappear in the other.

Also - a loud guitarist or drummer will easily go on the top of it, pretty much regardless of the wattage.

Agreed. Only 4 10s are needed, the other 4 are just to show the rest of the band who's boss.
