Loudest Bass Rig That You Have Heard or Know of.

That band was all the guys from Rage Against the machine minus Zach de la Rocha and with Chris Cornell from Soundgarden.

The bass player is Tim Commerford.

Both of the other bands got back together.

Oh I forgot a band that used to put out some killer low end but I don't think it was only the bass player and that was Floor.

When they would all hit a low note/chord it would suck the air out of the room. They didn't have anything that crazy huge. Bass player had an 8X10 and guitar players had some half stacks. The place I saw them at didn't have subs so I don't think it was the PA.

Too bad Torche (Steve Brooks from Floor's new band) doesn't really write song like that anymore.

But the loudest pure BASS rig I ever heard was Robbie Shakespeare backing up Black Uhuru. He was playing a fretless Steinberger through some ungodly rig that included 15" bins and what appeared to be 18" down-firing subs powered by stacks of power amps in racks. I was right up near the edge of the stage for one of these shows and thought I was going to lose control of my bowels. The venue was Montezuma Hall at San Diego State U, which has large clerestory windows up near the roofline, and I swear you could see those windows bowing and flexing with the bass lines. I thought the building was going to suffer significant structural damage.

I've Robbie Basspeare a few times and he's always been this way.

Loudest full range (i.e., capable of reproducing all the frequencies) rig I've played through was Mike Gordon's Meyer rig.

Loudest I've owned is my current rig: Grace M103->QSC CX1202v-> 2 fEARful 15/6/1s. I usually use only one cabinet. I did that with the amp bridged for a while but it let the magic smoke out of the cabinet in billows, so I've decided one channel at 700 watts is plenty.
