I've Robbie Basspeare a few times and he's always been this way.
Loudest full range (i.e., capable of reproducing all the frequencies) rig I've played through was Mike Gordon's Meyer rig.
Loudest I've owned is my current rig: Grace M103->QSC CX1202v-> 2 fEARful 15/6/1s. I usually use only one cabinet. I did that with the amp bridged for a while but it let the magic smoke out of the cabinet in billows, so I've decided one channel at 700 watts is plenty.
