Regardless of tonal characteristics, what do people think is the LOUDEST lightweight (under 40lbs) 1x12 cabinet available (for use as a standalone). I own several heads, but would most likely be using a GK MB-500 for this particular rig. For the purposes of this question, I'm purely interested in volume, not tone. Thoughts? Thanks! |

or possibly
Schroeder mini 12+ (regular=25lbs/500w, or the light =20lbs 400W). both are 100dB@ 1w/1m
Accugroove Tri112L (38lbs) 400w 100db@1w/1m

They will handle a lot of power and get VERY LOUD, to be sure; but I don't think they require an unusual amount of power. As I recall, high efficiency was a design goal.

the 3015LF is 3db more sensitve than the 3012LF.
and i don't think that high efficiency was really the design goal. it think it it was more about having an even frequency response with better dispersion.

On the second day of ownership I had a gig that ended up being in a larger room than expected...which was bothersome since I knew I was already pushing my luck bringing just one cab to a 10-piece R&B gig. (Carpool, weather, tight confines...) Anyway, the single cab didn't break a proverbial sweat. Certainly not a cheap cab, but I couldn't be happier with it. |

I I played through one of their 2x10s on several gigs and found it to be louder than expected considering the weight/power rating, and so wondered about the 1X12.... |

The Berg HT112ER has got to be the best 112 there is. Much better than the AE112 and the TC RS112. I've owned all 3. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
