I am in the market to replace my Carvin 410 (BXR neo). I was looking at a 115 stack (2 - 115's). I am also looking for solid versitility, low mid voicing, and good volume when needed. I am not looking for another/different 410 or the massive 810.
From what I read - GK NEO 115 III's are mid-voiced, but in the upper mids. I'm looking more for lower mid-voicing... Might I find that with the GK NEO 212 II and NEO 112 II stack???
I do like the mids, but am looking for lower voiced to hook up with my GK 700RB II.
Thanks guys - affordable suggestions?

Usually, my eq settings are bass-noon, low mid- 1:00, high mid-noon, and highs 11-12:00. If I'm plugging in direct to the head, I'll leave the contour and presence off. If I'm using my tone bone, then I'll roll up the contour and presence to about 9:00. (with the tone bone, I'm usually running a couple of basses, and I try to set things so that I won't need to knob twist when I change basses.)
If I use just the 112, I'll engage the string filter on the head (5 string), even when using a 4 string bass. The 112 just doesn't deliver the lows that the extended roll off provides, and it all ends up in the low mid area. Keeping the boost up also seems to help... but as I come up on the boost, I might need take down the lows at the eq, 'cuz things start to get a touch boomy.
With 212 or the 212/112 rig, you'll want to keep the string filter at 4 string. Things get really boomy if you leave it in. Otherwise, everything else is the same.
In all cases, if I want that SVT/sealed 810 low mid thang happening, then I'll use the VT Pedal.
The 700rbII/112/212 is a superb rig! Super versatile, and three cab options (112, 212 or both) give you the ability to maximize the "GK Growl" for the venue size. The gk neo 12's are a great value..... I love mine! |

Thanks.
...and Thanks to everyone else who chimed in.
I am still not positive in my direction, but all this helps tremendously. Quote:
