I run my Garnet into a 2 x 12 cabinet and would like to do the same thing with the bass head. Can anyone here recommend a low wattage tube bass head for me to run a 2 x 12 cabinet? Any recommendations on cabinets / speakers are welcome as well. I get all the grit that I need from the Garnet and the purpose of the bass amp is to supply some decently clean or a little bit gritty low end. Thanks!!
Hi smunched, come on over to the Low-Wattage Tubesters Official Club and the guys will have a ton of suggestions. Mine are:
1. Used Ashdown Little Bastard LB-30. It's 30 all-tube watts. Loud enough to summon law enforcement. I mean LOUD. Mine drives two 110s.
2. Traynor Darkhorse 15H. Guitar amp that works great for bass, switchable between 2 watts and 15 watts. Plenty of juice to drive a 115, 8-ohm Kustom cab. Low end is all there IME. Probably would sound sweet with a 212 setup.
