couldn't really tell how it sounded because he had flats on his pbass. i'm sure it'll sound fine.
anyone have a copy of the manual or schematic for the 250? |
Good, I'm glad somebody got it.
I'm curious what the 'edge' knob will do at gig volume. It didn't seem to do much when I was testing it out...

| | | | Here's Mine Read through the threads and didn't see any posts on the BH220 with the XB15 cabinet. Anyway, here's mine...had it since the mid to late 80's as I recall. GREAT rig! I have a couple of other pix if anyone is interested. |

All is good with the 1-12" cabs, but there is something strange with the 4-12". It seems to have an odd distortion on the 12th fret D. Very odd. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Blew the head surprisingly quickly haha! I really need to get that input jack fixed, but other things are pressing, and it works really well with the SANSamp as a pre amp into a dbx compressor into the power amp input. Sounds great, very loud through my hartke 4x10.
I opened up the case to see if I could just "adjust" the angle of the tines on the jack, but it is some unusual sealed contraption that scared me so I closed her up and let it be. |

--All the great tone here is best controlled with the 'tone balance' knob. CCW for beefy (but not muddy), CW for bright (but not brittle). The parametric eq is best used for fine tuning.
--I hated the cheap 80s mixing board knobs, so I replaced them with something a bit more vintage looking. A chickenhead is the best thing to do with the 'tone balance'. Since it does the most to the sound, I want to see where it is set at a glance from across the stage.
--Using it through an 8 ohm cab, I have to turn it up past 7 to get up to gig volume. The manual says you only get 160 watts @ 8 ohms. The search is now on for a 4 ohm cab.
Thanks to Chemdave for emailing the manual. My favorite bit is this ( 196hz for high G?):
The front: | This is fantastic, and one of the reasons I love TB...
I have a 260 (somewhere) which I've had since the 80's. I've got to find it and get some pics posted here. It was my main bass amp for 20 years and it was bullet proof. I did have some problems with it overheating, but it was otherwise great. The guitar player in my old band forgot to put it in the van after a gig and tried to drive over it. Aside from some scratches where the tire spun on the cabinet, it remained unharmed. Great stuff!

Can I get a number?
