M-PULSE 360 vs. Carbine M9!

Sign in to disble this ad
Alright, so now, I have 2 deals... One on a M-Pulse 360, and another one on a carbine M9! I play rock music, every style from classic rock to metal! So what would be the best? I have a Spector Rebop! I tried the M9 and loved it! So what would the 360 sounds like compare to it?! I have a SVT 4 Pro right now, I like it! But I want more!

Thanx TBers!! I really need fast advices!!

I've never played the 360 personally, but it is supposed to be just a lower powered version of the M-Pulse 600 which I have played through a few times and I owned an M6 Carbine. The Carbine is very midrange-forward, aggressive, and bright in comparison to the M-Pulse. In general the Carbine is very punchy and present, while the M-Pulse is more warm and round. The roundness of the M-pulse can make it fairly muddy, and never had that problem with the Carbine. The Carbine will also be MUCH louder- 900 watts vs the 360 watts of the M-Pulse, and the full midrange of the Carbine will cut through a mix quite a bit more than the warmth of the M-Pulse. As far as I know, the M-Pulse 360 is also discontinued, while M9s are new enough that yours will probably still have some of the 3 year transferrable warranty left if you are buying used (though I don't know if that applies to Canada)...

I've had a MPulse 360 for the past 9.5 years and it's never given me any problems. It's a lower powered version of the 600 but I've never had it past half even in 300+ clubs. I use it with a Powerhouse 4x10 or sometimes an Ampeg 810 cab. The 360 has a nice warm old school tone to it but if not EQ'd right it can get muddy in certain rooms. Super reliable if your gigging on a regular basis.

There's your answer... For your style of music, and for playing with a Spector, the Carbine is the one to get.

Don't over-think this. You're not missing anything by not getting the M-Pulse. As nice as the M-Pulse is, the Carbine is much better suited to your needs...

I love the M-Pulse tones, can get some pretty sounds out of them that you can't really do anywhere else IMO. The Carbine has ridiculous power though, more aggressive.

If you can get the M-Pulse 360 for like $400 that would be a pretty good deal.
