Oh Yes! Repeatedly....
I had it happen tonight at rehearsal. M9 into 410 Epifani 4 ohm cabinet--changed out the speaker cable, instrument cable, power cable, and bass guitar. Still shutting down! LIKE 20 TIMES, WITH 3 SECOND PAUSES.
Gain at 1 pm, master at 9:30. Instruments both passive, RW Jazz and MTD passive Kingston 5er.
I AM SO mad!!!!!

Amp is about 6 months old, I think. I will check the age...is there a revision dealing with this???
@Chef/anyone—is there an issue with racks/rack bags?
Edit added the next day: Quote: |
I am answering myself in case this helps others. Amp is actually one of the first 40 or so built. Yes, there is a thermal update available for those still under warranty. There is an issue with 2-space rack bags. Later iterations of the manual noted that you need a rack space above and one below--my January 2009 manual didn't have this warning.

If so, did you try it outside of the rack? |

This amp was my tone/power ideal. If it is not 100% reliable like my old SWR 350, my Crest CA6 or even my GB Shuttle 6.0, then I am going to be one seriously unhappy customer...
OK, OK, I must calm down....but this is the piece of my rig I was counting on to measure up.
I guess I was (once again) just a romantic fool.
Mesa Boogie will be recieving a return as soon as I can get it to them.

"...To insure proper ventilation always make sure there is at minimum four inches (101.6mm) of space behind the rear of the apparatus. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspa- pers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. Do not impede ventilation by placing objects on top of the apparatus which extend past the rear edge of its cabinet..."
Does your amp's rack satisfy these requirements? |

There were no temperature extremes, and in fact, I had each of the members of my trio touch the front and back of the amp. It was warm, but not hot anywhere on the back or front.

Does your amp's rack satisfy these requirements? | Yes, it does meet those requirements. It is a Gator 2 space rack bag. No obstructions are offered to the front or back of the unit. And yes, I did a lot of RTFM.

But only once, and no one else did (we have engineers in the band).

Was the amp actually hot to the touch when it was shutting down?
Do you think a low voltage condition could have been a contributing factor? Was anything else plugged into the same circuit? |

Even near the AC/power supply, it was warm, but not so hot that you couldn't just leave your hand there the whole time. Quote:

It was a suburban home in Dallas, and the drummer reported that he saw the bathroom lights "Sag" in brightness while I was playing. I checked this and did not see it. Drat, another unknown!
