Mackie SRM350

i just picked up a mackie srm350 on craigslist w/ the intention of getting another one when the price is right. i initially intended on using this as a monitor for rehearsals, or as a main if i am really in a real pinch.

for the heck of it, plugged my bass into the mackie and switched the input to mic level... it sounds great, especially for a sterile, more hi-fi kind of sound. the lows are nice, w/out being boomy, and the tweeter is quite smooth. there is a noticeable EQ bump around 250hz or so, and a there is a hiss, but it's not overwhelming.

i had been looking around for a little combo (ie; swr workingman or an ampeg b100r) to take to out for song writing sessions or to play around with acoustics, and this puppy fits the bill.

i am by no means trying to sell this as tone heaven, especially because i am an ampeg fridge kind of guy, just mentioning it as a nice alternative that serves double-duty as a monitor.
