Mackie SWA1501 + Sansamp BDDI?

Did a search and came up short.

Has anyone used the XLR out on the BDDI into a Mackie powered sub? I'm considering picking up a powered sub for my bands PA an thought it'd be nice to double it as a practice amp at rehearsal, as we don't use a sub outside of shows

I don't have a BDDI, but I've used a Zoom B2 into a Behringer powered speaker for acoustic style gigs. It didn't sound too bad considering it was very low budget equipment. You should have even better results than I did...but not with only the sub. You'll need a regular powered speaker with it, to pick up the mid and top frequencies of the bass.

It ain't gonna sound very good. That sub specs at 36 hz to 120 hz at -10dB. That pretty much wipes out anything on your G string, and with the inability to adequately produce any overtones, it will make your tone sound like mud. It might work for dub, but that's about it. The SABBDI can't make the sub produce frequencies beyond its limitations. It's not a good idea.

a powered sub (or two, or four) is a good idea for the gigs.

don't even bother trying to play bass through it by itself.

Ya, subs and bass amps are two wildly completely different things. But a sub is always a good idea to turn a PA that can't handle instruments into one that can, so get it.
