Made a Deal on an SD800

Sign in to disble this ad
I was at GC the other day when some bass stuff came in on a trade. There was a Markbass SD800 in the lot and I ended up making a deal on it for $500. From what I’ve seen, it seemed like a real good price.

I recently got a couple of 3015 cabs from LDS that are around 35lbs and the LDS version of the 15/6. I wanted a lightweight head as an option to lugging my 400+ or F1X/pwr amp rack when I’m doing side gigs.

I put it on a 30 day layaway as I didn’t have all the cash with me at the time so I haven’t run it yet with my cabs. I’m hoping it works out for me but if it doesn’t for some reason, I’m hoping I got into it cheap enough to flip it. Whacha think?

I'm sure a few of the 15/6 owners will look forward to hearing your results. That should sound very good, since the SD800 has deep lows, pronounced upper mids, and a rather present top end in general, and puts out some serious wattage into 8ohms. That SHOULD be a great combination for the 15/6.

Post up in the fEarFul or LDS thread when you've put it throught its paces.

That head can be a bit loose down low and clanky/ganky in the upper mids with some more modern two way cabs, but my guess is, it will sound very good with the 15/6. Of course, I've been wrong before!
