That's hard to say without knowing what kind music you play, what kind of tone you like, and how weight matters to you. I have two of the Markbass 104HF cabs (got each of them used at the local GC) and am pleased. I previously had an SWR 6x10 cab and I like the MB much better. But I am a passive Fender guy and mostly play a P bass with flats.

I've never gigged with a Markbass, but I use several SWRs and I'm happy with them. They're reasonably well balanced and have good transient response. The Markbass probably doesn't have the highs, but I don't know that firsthand.

I'll plug in my 800RB to the Markbass 104HF tomorrow and let you know how it sounds.

Haven't played the MB, but have played an 800RB and 700 RB II extensively into my G III. One of my all time favorite combinations. I just can't deal with the weight anymore.

Different sounding cabs. The Markbass has a lot of low end, growly low mids and a pretty mild top end response - you can max the horn and its not too much. The SWR is had a much brighter horn, is cleaner and doesn't have the gritty mids going on even though it is still punchy. Both great sounding cabs but pretty different. Hopefully you can demo them in person, it should make it a an easy choice. Goodluck

I plugged in the GK 800RB into the Markbass 104HF. I think it sounds really good and it's loud. If you like the GK tone, then this would definitely work with that head.

GK & SWR always sound great together.

I'm a 100% Markbass fan, but never tried GK amp into MB cabs. It will sound very different.
