So I went to GC to buy the MarkBass cab 104HR, they had a new one and used one, not sure which one to go with? the used one is $699.99 and new one is $950.00, my biggest concern is warranty. Should I get the GC warrant on the used one or shud i get the new one and bet my luck on Markbass warranty?
TBers are big proponents of used gear. I personally prefer to buy my electronics new-for the warranty, cosmetic condition and knowledge of how they have been treated. I do have several vintage amps, which is a different situation. I have had good results buying used instruments and won't hesitate to do so again.
I've bought the following cabs used, either from the local GC or here on TB:
- Two Markbass 104HF 4x10 front ported cabs
- 115HR 15" cab
- Two of the 102p 2x10 Traveler cabs
Never had a problem with any of them and did not buy a warranty. In fact, one of the 2x10 cabs was brought up to Indy by a fellow TB'er from Florida on a business trip and he checked it as luggage with the airline - no case or box - there was an airline check tag attached to the handle.
I'd go with the used cab!!!
