MarkBass Berlin combo with the NY 151 cab,,, WOW and WOW !!!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I've had my MarkBass 115 Berlin combo for a while now and been giging out with it on regular basis (small to med size clubs) with the combo on a tilt back stand most of the time,,, and its been great.

Today, the NewYork 115 cab I ordered from MF a few days ago was delivered,,,, perfect timing as I had an outdoor gig to play last night.

Anyhow,,, got to the gig and loaded my MB stuff onto the stage, hooked it all up and flipped on the power.

WOW,,, I thought I was going to pee myself (which would not have been good as there were some cute girls in the front row, its hard to pick up hottie's at a gig with urine on your pants) anyhow,,, I knew there would be a difference for the better with the NY cab hooked up to my Berlin combo,,,, but I was not expecting such a HUGE GIANT difference,,, it was like night and day.

The tone, the punch,,, the headroom,,, everything was just amazinig to say the very least,,,,, the gig ended hours ago and I am still excited over the sound I got using my Fender Jazz AeroDyne with my BEAD tuning.

If anyone is one the fence about adding an extension cab to their MarkBass combo all I can say is do it !!!!!!!

Cheers

Very cool. And yes, adding a second identical or similar cab will result in a massive increase in low end, volume, and headroom, due to the combination of the head putting out its full power into 4ohms, the 'coupling' effect of two identical speaker cabs, and the increase in cone area... resulting in, on average, a massive +5db increase in volume, and a much more relaxed, open, full, non compressed tone when pushed a bit.

Enjoy that rig!!!!
