Markbass CMD 102P fan noise?

A question to Markbass users...

I purchased a Markbass CMD102P, and I love it, but it makes a fair bit of noise due to the fan.

Is this to be expected?

I notice the same about mine (bought used). My low hour LMII seems much quieter. I wonder if the enclosed could magnify the volume.

My CMD102P has a pretty low level of fan noise, not nearly as loud as my Hartke HA5000 fan was. I do notice the fan noise slightly more when using it in the "tilt-back" position.

Yes, fan noise is audible. Great combo (sound, weight, tilt) but for me fan sound was too much. Never notice fan noise when I played live but basslessons and studio were not so nice. But as a live bassamp Markbass cmd102 was just great. Markbass heads are dead silent. My SA450 was that with any cabs.

Has anyone replaced the fan in their LMII or III? The fan in my 102P is noisy and I'd like to change it before it fails (bought used the fan in my LMII is whisper quiet.

BTW, looking for a fan source

I never noticed that my LMII even had a fan.

Mine too, I have to put my hand over the vent to know its running which I do every time I power it on. I never did this on my previous LMII and never noticed the fan had failed. Until the head died.

Here's hoping somebody from the weekend crowd can help. I'm still looking for a LMII cooling fan source.
