Markbass CMD121P

Am thinking of getting a CMD121P for a weekly gig I play where a small amp is just right and circumstances allow me to store the amp at the gig site so I don't have to haul back and forth.

Any love for this little amp?

Great little amp, and more power than it's size belies. Just make sure you point angle it up towards your head, or else it'll fire past your ankles.

For the size, weight, and specs, nothing comes close. A real quality piece of professional gear.
Just do a search and you'll find a lot of opinions on this combo

Had one (and have been using it) since shortly after they came out. I love the little fellar!!!

Granted, it's the right size for a small venue but add the NY 121 and it will hold up well to a small and medium sized job.

Don't hesitate!!! grab one now!!

I have been quite surprised at how capable this rig is! Love the NY121 underneath the CMD121, simply because it puts the controls at arms length, easy to eye ball the amp settings and the driver of the Combo is closer to ear level. So it's quite a compelling little stack!

Alone the CMD121p is perfect for my small, quiet, Duo gigs at a local resort where I play. Lovely amp. Very very excellent value, tone and performance in a size and weight that is OH-SO Friendly! Here is my little stack of Markbass joy at a gig I played last weekend.

played one at a bar gig last week. While I'm not a MarkBass tone fan (I prefer GK) I was quite impressed with the output and overall tone quality so I was definitely not sulking. Kept up quite handily with a drummer, percussionist, guitarist, keys, and vocalist, had plenty of power on tap I never needed. I'd imagine another speaker cab and you could do larger venues no problema. In all, a nice amp.

I did a larger venue the next night and the stack kept up quite handily, and the Master Vol was only at 9 - 10 O'clock! ....here is the stage;

I'm not surprised you could cover that size a venue using that rig.

I forgot to mention, after I played a 5 string bassist used it. No floppy/farty low Bs out of that amp, very clear and solid.

That's quite a driver in those things, a B & C 12" I think.

I haven't played too many amps but my 121P does everything and so much more. The tonal options are good from old school to modern and its wonderful having the bass case in one hand and the 121P in the other when transporting your equipment. Like the other poster, I've never went past 12 'O Clock. Definately worth every penny!

Best decision I ever made was buying a 121P. Now my wife doesn't complain as much about having to lug my amp and my basses at gigs. The amp sits next to the keyboard players foldback (I use in-ears) and they run a speaker lead to whatever cab the sound guy sets up in the backline.

I bought a CMD 121P two weeks ago and received my ordered extra cab earlier this week.
It's a traveler 121H model.
A bit bulky compared to the combo itself but the weight is very acceptable.
But now about the sound it produces.
That is absolutely awesome!!!
This cab produces an incredible depth and extra pressure.
I'm so pleased with this setup.
The combo on itself is pretty good and more than enough for rehearsals.
But whenever I want it to show off, I'm bringing the extra cab along.
Now I get a great round, warm sound out of my Fender 1985 MIJ Jazz Bass.
To compare, I disconnected the speaker of the combo and played through the amp and 121H only.
But it's just not the same as using both speakers.
They just work well together!

I had the wonderfull MicroMark 801 till yesterday.
Even that amp combined with the 121H traveler was magic.
But the 801 just wasn't loud enough to cope with two tube guitar amps :-)
