Markbass Folding Cab Stand Is Awesome

Sign in to disble this ad
My Markbass 1x12 combo was never loud enough by itself to act as a monitor on stage with a full band, but I recently got the Markbass Mark Stand Folding Cab Stand (that's really what it's called), which is a small velcro triangle that can tilt any cab upwards and now, I can use my 1x12 as a monitor by itself! It made a huge difference. Plus, it's only $40, it's very durable (I think it's some kind of lightweight metal inside), and super portable since you can unvelcro it and fold it flat (will probably fit in a large gig bag). Definitely one of my favorite bass gadgets.

I use a regular folding amp stand, meant for 1.12 guitar combo's, but it securely holds my GB Uber 212 with my head bungee-corded to the top. Looks odd, sounds awesome.

just to add here,

my lil GB Neox 112T has a buit in, short, two toed, rubber coated, spring- loaded foot underneath that angles the cab nicely. I stuck some velcro under the MB F1 I use with it and can place the head onto the cab so it sticks to the fur, works real nice.

I have 3 MB heads but no MB cabs and I find no need to tilt any of my other Eden or GB cabs. Still that's a good gadget you found there, if needed.

Hey y'all -- is anyone able to give me some measurements on this thing in its ready to use "assembled" state; i.e. how tall is it, and how adjustable is the height? I can't find any sensible specifications on the interwebs (I think they give the folded down size).

Thanks for all sensible responses!

I tried that myself, but it didn't work for metal.

I think the conversation about how everything else is better than the Markstand has been had. Maybe I'll agree with you, but I can't do that without the relevant information.

Anyone?

I got given one for a B'day a while back- cuppla yrs- & I use it at times. Tho Sometimes it can be a bit unstable on larger cabs. But, on the whole- a pretty useful li'l piece of gear. I like it.

Dude - what relevant information do you need to determine if a velcro triangle pointing your amp up at an angle is better than any other device doing the same thing?
Look at the photo on their web site. That'll give you a good relative reference.
Now, can we please get back to making fun of this $40 velcro triangle??

My folded Hercules guitar stand works great for tilting my amp back...but then I can't use it to hold my bass.

I don't know , that Markbass stand looks pretty cool to me . I know it's only velcro and some foam and vinyl but it can't weigh anything much or take up any room in the gig bag and it will do what it's supposed to . Any of the others stands mentioned will weigh more and take up more room in the gig bag . I have one of the metal folding leg stands from Speaker Hardware built into the bottom of my small 12" 3 way cab and it works great and was only about $8 but it added a couple of pounds to my cabinet . I don't think $40 is too much for what the Markbass stand does . .

I have one. It fits in the pocket of my iGiG bag and takes practically no space. Not as flashy as scrap lumber but I am willing to make these sacrifices for my music.
