Wow, it looks identical to the original in every way, save the chassis. If having the upgraded version with gain level adjustment is not an issue, this is a great deal.

i love the copy in the MF ad that says "This collector's item will not last." i think that maybe they should have worded that line differently.

So the final price is $499 ?

I see the original LM II selling for $449 at every GC, sitting right next to the new LM III for $599.

I guess you could pay $50 more if the color does it for ya.

I don't think so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but believe OP has a coupon code or something.

If this is true

15% off at GC 04/02-04/04

it brings it down to $424 with free shipping.

During one of the weekend sale, maybe Labor Day, I saw MarkBass LMII marked $399. It was in out of the box condition/new. If I were buying one in store I'd throw that fact at them and tell them you'll buy it now if they can do that price again...they already showed they were willing to once! And they obviously still have the old heads laying around.

I caught a Musician's Friend 20% off sale at the right time and bought my LM III for $480 right after they came out. I would wait on any big purchase from them until they have some sort of sale...
