Markbass Traveler 121H vs. New York 121

I played the NY 121 and I loved everything about it except for the high end was to pronounced.

Has anybody A/Bed these two? Did you find the compression driven 121h to be better balanced?

Nobody around here has one to try out. I'd appreciate any feedback regarding the high end on the 121H.

Thanks!

I've tried them both in the mix, and the ny121 was the winner. It cut through much better, IMO. I use it with the mb 121cmd combo amp, and it is a fantastic little rig

The little 121 is a bit boxy sounding to me. I prefer a bigger cab. Here's Manring playing his 121H combo. YouTube - ‪Don Ross, Andy McKee, Michael Manring - www.candyrat.com‬‏

I prefer the 121H. I'm not a fan of the Markbass piezo tweeters.

I have the 121H combo and prefer it to the 121P combo (which is about the same size box as the NY121 cab). Bigger box, more bottom. I play my combo pretty much flat and it cuts through fine.

How would you say it compares in terms of high frequencies?

That was my only gripe with the 121p. They seemed more pronounced than the other frequencies when I tried all their piezo tweeted cabs. (BTW, I had everything set flat on my amp and bass.)

Thanks.

Uh, wish I could answer that one better. I didn't really notice when playing the 121P combo at GC. I was interested in coupling it with a 210 to see how the 210 sounded. But, I hear folks all the time say that the compression driver is smoother than the piezo, so I guess my 121H combo sounds better than the 121P combo at least.
