Exclamation markbass warranty

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello

Does Markbass have 2 year exchange policy? Purchased a Mini CMD 121P Feb 2, 2009, and have been having some issues with the fan failing and the tweeter seems to be blown.

Wrote to Markbass.it and they seem to now have an authorized service center in the US. I guess the bad news is I can't expect an exchange from Musician's Friend?

I thought I remember reading several posts where people who purchase through guitar center were able to make exchanges if the product needed repair..? Anyone know what the latest is?

Peter Murray are you there?

Thanks,

Kirk

Well, if they do, it's news to me. As far as I know, MarkBass has the same warranty coverage as most Amp makers...but I don't remember the specifics...

Maybe a year's coverage?

But again, I don't "think" it is an exchange policy...except perhaps within the fist 90 days...but that should/would be covered at the POS (point of sale) say for example Guitar Center.

Now, understand, this is purely speculation. I am not positive about the Markbass policy...I own a CMD 121P and haven't had a need for any warranty work..

Best of luck to you!

The tweeter blew in MB NYC121 cabinet after 6 months of owning it. I took it to GC and they just exchanged it for a new one. Ive owned a MB CMP121P for 2 years and the tweeter has held up which is odd because the NYC121 cabinet has a tweeter control on it (nice) and I only turn it 1/4 up. My CMP121P tweeter is on full always because I have the VLE control turned completely off. I wish Markbass would incorporate a circuit breaker/fuse for the tweeter or a tweeter control for the tweeter on the CMP121. Seems like it would be easy and not that expensive. I believe I will blow another one again. I have never turned the amp up past the 11 o'clock position. I pulled out the tweeter and looked at it and it doesn't look like it can handle much. I'm surprised they last at all. It is a 500 watt amp. Maybe some one might know a way to add some kind of protection to the tweeter?

Yes an exchange would be great..If it's possible..

We play live at least once or twice a week so by the time I ship this thing off to some repair center... I sent off a doa ashdown to a service center and never heard a word for over 2 months..
Hoping not to ever go down that road again..

Here's a thread that quotes the terms of the two year warranty, but I haven't been able to find my paperwork to see if it reads the same in print..

I probably should have posted this in the amp section..

Markbass warranties at GC - further clarification

=============

"Effective February 1, 2008, Markbass and its dealers in the USA have instituted a new warranty arrangement which streamlines coverage in the unlikely event that the user experiences a defect in manufacturing materials or workmanship.

The new warranty will provide for either off-site repair or replacement at the point of purchase at the sole discretion of the retailer and Markbass to the original owner for the period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

What this means:
Markbass items will be exchanged at the store if there is a defect in manufacturing or materials for the period of 2 years from the time of purchase. This warranty is for the original retail purchaser of the product only. This warranty does not cover abuse or neglect. If there is a question concerning determining this, the product will be sent to a USA Markbass distribution center for evaluation.

No exchange will be given until a determination has been made as to whether the item is defective or damaged by the user or incorrect use.

Markbass products will still qualify for an extended warranty or service plan which will extend the coverage beyond the 2 year manufacturer warranty."

Ok, problem resolved. Had to make 3 calls to musician's friend before they were finally able to dig up the return policy. Good news is it looks like they will indeed honor the exchange.

This makes me extremely happy! Incredible actually.

Sorry for the double post, I thought the original was in the wrong category but apparently it got moved?

I took my LMII (noisy DI) back to Guitar Center and they were trying to figure out how to send it in for repairs and were informed by Markbass that it was an exchange deal. I got an LMIII for the few buck difference.....and the clock was reset for another two years. Pretty good deal.

Thanks for this thread...My F1 has developed an annoying very loud hum... ( not my signal chain as it hums when nothing is pluged in an input). Guitar Center hasn't been able to confirm how to handle the warranty through Markbass. I have been waiting for an answer for 2 days. I guess I will have to use a back up amp this weekend.

My concern is if they decide they want to replace my amp...would I have to pay the difference in price as I got a really good deal on the F1.

that's bullcrap with gc and their mishandling of the markbass warranties! it's a 2 year exchange policy, period. now maybe you won't get a nib amp, but you'll get one that works. i so don't get how gc can butcher up these warranties so badly and not have a clue. get it together, idiots!
