Smart people. Unfortunately I'm not smart and used the money I got from selling my MB rig to buy an SVT. I kinda regret it.

I used to own a Mini CMD121P and an LMII for a while. I ultimately fell out of love with the combo, though I really dug the amp for how tubey it could sound. But then the VT pedal came out and I had my Ampeg tube amps rebuilt, so I went back to them and it kind of rendered the LMII moot.

People who don't have as high of a risk for developing back injuries from carrying gear?

Yeah, but you don't have to go with Markbass to get that. It's a good choice, but nowadays, it's not the only choice.

You know, in all honesty, light weight is the absolute last criteria I have for selecting gear. If it doesn't sound good, it could weigh half a pound, put out 1000w, and fit in your pocket, and I wouldn't give you two cents for it. OK, I'd give two cents for it but not $500.

All I can say is I love my 121H combo and 151P cab. I get all the sounds I want from it. Planning on a second 151P cab and separate head (probably a LMIII). And I love the look. Yep, I do. My rig sits by the TV where I can stare at it all I want. I love looking at it and remembering the gig I just played on it. (I'm weird).

Got into Markbass when I was looking for something lightweight that could also kick butt. At the time (three years ago), I didn't know there was so much else out there that could also do that. But no regrets, and no plans on switching brands. I'm a Markbass kind o' guy, I guess, except...

I ain't wearin' no tights. Nope.

They sound great but are perhaps the ugliest looking amps ever created. Whoever designed them and chose the colours must have been a construction worker.

I'm not crazy about the looks - bright yellow...ugh. But I use Markbass heads. I have two, an R500 and a LMII I throw in a backpack as a backup head.

Very reliable, powerful amps for the size. I love em.

Somebody sig this!

What kind of people play MarkBass stuff?

1) people looking for a great bass sound
2) people who don't think an amp has to look a certain way to sound good
3) people who find 100 pound tube heads completely ridiculous

I just cannot get past my love for the Size, Weight, Performance and Tone of my Markbass F1. I'd like an F500, but don't 'need' an F500.
