Marshall 1550 speaker replace???

Sign in to disble this ad
Can anyone tell me which speaker will be good for this cabinet... original speaker was electrovoice 250w but last owner put some very bad 150w RCF in it....

I am thinking about Eminence DELTA 15 speaker...rated 400w

Amp Head is Bassman 50 from 1969.

I need speaker for rock music... for clean and sometimes for overdrived bass sound.

Thanks

Choosing an appropriate replacement speaker requires a whole lot of information on the speaker cabinet itself before you can choose a suitable replacement driver.

Have you tried contacting Marshall for suggestions?

Just as a point, RCF make very good drivers. They were known as the Italian JBL at one time.

I think what Paul's trying to say is that you can take a great driver and put it in the wrong cab and have it come out sounding like crap.

Measure the INTERNAL dimensions of your cab.

If the cab is ported with a shelf port, measure the height and width of the port, and measure the length of the port shelf.

If the cab is ported with round ports, tell us how many, what their INTERNAL diameter is, and what their length is.

Also tell us whether the cab has any internal bracing.
