Marshall DBS7400 needs repair

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, basically its a long story........ but the speaker output was plugged back into the input of the DBS7400!!!!!! Not by me I may add. So I believe the preamp section has had a massive surge of power through it and obviously has blown some components, after the pre-amp circuit seems fine and should/is protected however the pre-amp circuit is a low current board and is damaged!!! I phoned marshall for a new board but they said no way!!! Also I asked for any spare components resistors etc.....They said NO again!!!
I can visually see the components that are gone but some dont seem to be available anymore, would Marshall be able to repair this? Or would they just say no again lol. Or would there be any electronics guys in UK that would take on something like this???
I got the VBA400 to replace it but I really do miss the DBS, it really is incredible. Or if anyone has a spare pre-amp circuit floating around

Hi.

The schematics are easily available, so for a competent tech, the diagnosing should be a breeze.

Whether the actual repair will be a breeze, or even feasible, that's impossible to tell.

Just throwing in random components won't fix the amp, in fact it may destroy it beyond repair.

Regards
Sam
