Marshall MB 4410 cab problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

A few months ago I replaced my old peavey (130w/4ohm) head +2x15" (300w/4ohm) cab, with a Marshall MB 4410 combo (300w/4ohm 450w/2ohm) 4x10".
I really love the sound, but I miss the mass spreading of sound
in bars and small clubs, which the 2x15" certainly did.

So I would like to add a 15" cab into the xtra speaker output,
I would like to know which cab would suit the best? The person who sold me the amp said he had mailed Marshall and was told that an extra 4ohm cab, would make the amp run hot.
So better to use an 8ohm cab.

I have asked this in several shops and everytime an other reply,
I mailed a few times to Marshall, but haven't received a reply yet.

I assume the bes match would be the MB 115 cab, but are there other options,
I tried my old peavey 2x15 cab, and this gave far more than the 4x10, so not ideal to use.

AAAAAAAAHUMM!

You bunch of uninterested bass-whores!

I just took the risk and ordered the mbc115 cab,
if it doesn't work out, it's all your fault, all of you!

So I will report within 2-3 weeks about my mb4410 + mbc 115-rig, so I can test it at home, rehearsing and playing a gig
(a rockgig: drum-bass-guitar-vocal; venue: 130m2/650m3, expected audience: 100-200, guitar & bass not through PA, only vocal and bass-drum!), from 21u30 till 23u00 warming up before a 70's-80's-90's-party,

The test willl be thorough!

Still no one with any experience with this kind of rig?

The guy at the shop, obviously doesn't really know what he's talking about.

The head is designed to run down to two ohms and I ran my old Marshall head at 2 ohms without any problems.

How is it working out for you? I have a 4410, been thinking about getting the 115, just to clarify though, is the mbc 115 different than the 115 for the mb series, or are these infact the same?

it's working out great, no weird phasing effect nice balance between the 2 cabs, doesnt give me much more power but a lot more pressure and depth in the sound, I think it's the same but i'm not sure.
