Anyone tried this valve head?

Good News? Bad News?

I can't believe noone answered this question.
It's all good news, plenty of grunt with the 8 x 6550 tubes, quality build.
The EQ section is a little underwellming being passive, but i use a VT-bass pedal anyway.
I have mine paired with the VBC810 cab.

I've used one. Great amp but beware the f/x loop and clean the input sockets on the front occasionally. The fan sucks dirt in from every little hole.

Used to own one. Had it with the VBC 412 cab. The biggest, baddest sounding bass amp out there.

Loads of volume. Passive EQ, which takes a bit of getting used to. Loads of bottom end. Never boomy, always creamy....

Wish I still had it!!!

I love mine! All the power you need with a warm tubey sound. I have mine paired with a mesa powerhouse 8X10. Crank the gain up and you get a good growl out of it. My eardrum blowing guitarists don't stand a chance
(they've been given the nickname SVT killers lol)
It will be an expensive day when the 8 6550 power valves need to be replaced, though.
