Hi guys,
I would appreciate a bit of advice......
I am looking to upgrade to a head + cab set-up as opposed to the combo I have at the moment (Line 6 LD Pro 300).
I own a 2005 Rick 4003 and have tried a few head and cab combinations but the one that blew me away was the Marshall VBA400 head and associated VBC412 cab....it sounded awesome!
I play in an indie covers band in small and medium sized venues but want a versatile rig that would only need limited upgrading if we were to move on to bigger venues.
Any advice / thoughts / recommendations / issues with this set-up would be appreciated before I commit £1500 of my hard-earned pretty green.
Cheers! |

How big are your venues? 2 15's and a good amp like a Thunderfunk 750A will be muuuuch easier to move around and will provide more than enough volume and substance to play even in front of a thousand people. |

I was in a Yes tribute band from 2000 to 2003. I played a Chris Squire Limited Edition Ric 4003CS bass through a Marshall VBA400 amp. I did not have the Marshall cab you are referring to. I played the amp through a pair of Mesa 4x10 cabs.
I can tell you that the VBA400 amp sounded fantastic. It will provide more volume than you would ever need. Great tube tone!

Have you checked out the Ashdown BTA? It's another behemoth. |

That has definately sealed it ..... I will be parting with a lot of my hard-earned in the very near future but well worth it for a "serious pro rig" or the one I like best "the rig of death"! |
