Check out this video of an Orange rep talking to Mastodon about their Orange amps. I love Mastodon, they are such real and funny guys. Even better band.

I saw this in the latest GW mag. Interested to see how that translates in the studio and if they stick with the Orange stuff or just mix it all up like usual.

One of my fave bands, btw.

So this isn't a thread about how Orange want you to buy Mastodon albums?

This endorsement must be really new, I saw some videos recently of a show they did around the middle of September and Troy was still using Ampeg. He used Mesa for quite a while around the time Crack The Skye came out too didn't he?

It is pretty new. Like I said, they have a full page ad for all 3 guys in the latest Guitar World mag. It's like the first page in the entire mag.

I haven't seen him use Amepg live in years (unless it was a rented rig). He usually rocks the Mesa BB750 and V12 into Roadready 810+412 rigs.

I've yet to see them live, had to miss them on the Crack the Skye tour and I'm still killing myself for it.

But on most live videos on youtube and elsewhere Troy has mostly different combinations of brands. Like a Mesa head + Ampeg/Mesa Cab. Ampeg head + Orange cabs, etc. Haven't seen him play the AD200B yet though.

When I saw them in '04 I believe Troy was using Mesa amps.

Looks like a Gibson, maybe a Gretsch? Hard to tell.

I know he plays Yamaha basses.

It's the Yamaha Sheehan hollowbody I think...

When I saw them in May he had his entire old rig, AND the Orange AD200B with an isobaric 4X10. The guitarists also added the Orange rigs onto their setups. Brent had 3 full stacks.

I just saw Mastodon last weekend (opened for Deftones and Alice in Chains), and they were all using Orange amplification... I never even heard of them before last weekend, and I haven't stopped listening to them since.. they were awesome
