Question Matching a new cab with appropriate head

Sign in to disble this ad
ok so i really need to upgrade my bass amp since i really want to start playing with others. and i am really considering buying the fender rumble 410 cab. its a 4x10 cab with 1000 watts programable/ 500 watts continuous at 4 ohms. the problem is this is my first "real" amp and i have no idea what head to match it with. i don't want to overpower it, but i dont want to underpower it eather. i heard that messes up your cab and/or head. i was thinking of matching it up with the rumble 350 head, which is 350 watts at 4 ohms. would this setup work ? would i have any problems with blowing up the cab or head or smthing?

Yes, the Rumble 350 head is the perfect match for your cab. Forget about power ratings on cabs, they're all but meaningless.

Probably around 250-300 watts before the speakers hit their mechanical limit and fart out (depending on how extreme you EQ)

Also, forget about "UNDERPOWERING" - it is only a myth and DOES NOT exist.
