but i don't really want the svt 3 hybrid,as i have a v4b,400+,sunn coloseum 300.....both pieces are $900 canook,or aboot $12 us.....which year usa cabs are the absolute avoid units, and which years sound closest to the straight back sound....there are 2 in his pic and i believe the item has a classic tag on it....seller says they are "darker sounding".....what would the ampeg gurus consider a decent price d.o.cond.....i hear there's a a guy in orlando with a passing interest in these things

you rang?

the only years to avoid are the osb years, which i believe are 2000-2005. not entirely sure of the years, but that's a ballpark...just make sure the wood isn't osb and you really can't go too far wrong with any of them.

as far as price, that's really hard to estimate, but generally $300-500 has been the going rate. however, if they're immaculate, i could be talked into paying more. but most people sell their 810's because they're desperate to get that big hulking monster out of the house...at least the wives are so they go for less than they really should, imho. take advantage!

JimmyM, what are the years to avoid for vintage SVT amps? Anything in the mid or late 70s, 80s?

i just paid 600 for mine but for a cab this old its in immaculate condition, all original tolex with no rips, all original speakers, and the ampeg cart to go with it. and the grill is in perfect shape too, no warping and still holds nice and tight.

i think the price is starting to go up in shops because theyre "vintage" but jimmy is right, if you can find a private seller who wants to keep their back from going out, 400 is probably doable.

600 is where used ones seem to start here.....i passed on one for that last year with a bent wheel and some other things....i guess i figured that u.s. prices would fly here

Mine is a '98 and OSB. I bought it for $80 though, so no complaints here!
