There are no neo 10s that will improve in any way on that design at this time, that I have ever seen. They will overpower the midrange driver and probably mess with the crossover and probably develop a nasty upper bass bump, or at least very probably.

You'd need to find a new mid and a new crossover for it to sound decent and you'd still be better off.

AFAIK, no one has done such a dastardly thing

Sacrilege!!!

Mind you as my age advances I'd love a set of neos for my four cabinets!

I would spend whatever it takes to get an Acme B2 constructed with Neo speakers and a carbon fiber case, provided it sounded exactly like the Acme's I already own. My B2s aren't all that heavy but I'm not getting any younger either and less weight is always better.

It wasn't the weight that made me sell my B-2 as much as it was how awkward the critter was to carry.

The handles are off-center so if you carry them with the speakers pointing toward you they aren't any more awkward than any other 2X10 cab.

During most of the time I owned a B-2 I heartily agreed.

I may be alone in this, but I'd rather carry something "down and to my side" than "up and in front". The real "awkwardness" came when pulling open a door. I never came up with solutions other than putting the cab down or hoisting it onto my shoulder. (Which was my preferred method of carrying it.) That's why I deviated from the plans for my current cabs and placed a single strap handle on the side.

The B-2 is a very good sounding cab and I know Andy Lewis had very good structural reasons for the type and location of the handles. I would have bought a second one if I'd not found something that suits my taste a bit better.
