Maybe the cable??? (Advice??)

Sign in to disble this ad
Two weeks ago I got a Fender Bassman 250 Amp. It has been sweet. Last night I found two fender cables that I have not used in over 20 years. I plugged it in and the sound was cracking. It would even go out at times. Then I treid the other one and the same thing. So I plugged the original cable, that I have been using these last few years, back in and the amp didn't go out again. Could both of those Fender cables have gone bad after 20 years of non-use? I check the jack on both my bass and the Amp and all was good.

Yes - corrosion among other reasons.

Yep--bad cable, highly likely.
