MB150-S vs MB 112

If there are any past or present users of these, could you comment? I just wonder if the price difference is warranted for my use: Mainly want to get rid of my gig amp and practice amp and find a small lightweight combo to use for both. I now only play as part of an acoustic duo with an added persussionist once in a while. I use a MIM Jazz bass and a 5 string acoustic/electric bass guiartar. My current equipment includes an SWR Workingman's 15 combo for live work and a Fender Bassman 25 for practice at home. I've also looked at the new Bassman TV Twelves, but the GK's are both far lighter and more powerful.

Well, as I like to say....the main difference between them is that one exists and the other doesn't. Don't hold your breath on that 8-13-2010 date.

I didn't even notice that "pre-order" note. Oh well I guess finding a used MB112 (I really like buying used) would be a couple of years away.......

The MB115 is a great amp. I bought one about a month ago, and have used it one a few gigs. Good sounding amp if you like GK tone. Its rated at 200 watts, but the owners manual says 240, ceramic 15 inch speaker, plywood constructed box, and it only weights 33 lbs. For 400.00 bucks its a good deal IMHO, but you can get it for less when GC runs a sale.

The MB150 is a great amp, particularly when paired with the matching MBX112 extention speaker.

LOL. That's quite a difference.

I know the MB150S is revered as a workhorse small combo standard but I found it middy and boxy. IMO it doesn't come close in tonal quality to more modern offerings by Markbass, Ibanez Promethean or Genz Shuttle combos.

There. I said it.

I had a MB150S its a nice amp, but the new MB115 is way better in my opinion, and it cost way less.
