MB210 w/ a 5 stringer?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm sure this has been mentioned in one of the other GK threads, sorry if it has. I have a MB210 combo and was wondering how it handles a 5 string bass. For those of you that have tried it how is it? I also have the 210MBE. I don't use it all the time but has anyone used a 5 string with the MB210/210MBE stack? Thanks for any help.

Absolutely it can. The MB210 combo is great, I bought one recently. It is one of the best in its class (let alone for the price).

I used mine with a 7 string fretless. Worked great!

I was hoping to hear good things. I'm thinking of getting a 5'er.

I have it, and play it with Musicman stingray 5 classic just last night.
1. You can not play it in active input because is not too loud enough
2. If You play it in passive input, must turn master no 3, gain on 12 and volume on 2,
and then it's loud enough, but 5. string distort a little.

I use the 210 Mb by itself and along with the 115MBE with all of my basses which happens to be all 5 stringers and it works great with enough bottom.

Currently, 90% of my playing is 5-string and my MB210 seems to handle it just fine.

I’ve never tried the MB210 myself but in researching here on TB the 5 string players that had played the MB210 and MB212 seemed to prefer the way the 212 handled the B string. I went with a MB212 and couldn’t be happier with how it handles my 5.
