Sign in to disble this ad
Hi folks,
Just wondering if any of you amp circuit wizards out there could lend me a hand please. I am looking for a schematic, pictures of both sides of the bias mod circuit or something that shows me how to make the bias mod circuit for my mesa 400+. Everything else is in place to do the job just need the information about the circuit. Any help gratefully received.

Peace,

CEF.

IMO if you cannot work this out yourself you are not ready to work inside a tube amp. The circuit modification is basically electronics 101 stuff. I am concerned for your safety.

+1 and I'll add, I've made a living designing circuits and wiring gizmo's and what-nots, and would NOT attempt to work on my amps. It's a whole 'nother field of expertise, best left to those who know what they're doing.

Thank you gentlemen for your concern.
I have been a professional guitar tech for the past ten years and have modded and messed around with fx pedals for almost the same amount of time so I know that an amp is out of my league.
The guy who will do the work for me can design me a bias circuit for said mesa head but also told me if I wanted to keep costs down, (as I am short on doe), I needed to do the donkey work to find a circuit that is already in use and he'll take it from there.
