Mesa BB750 Mute Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys,

I've recently been getting trouble with the footswitch input on my BB750. It originally started when I plugged in the footswitch and hit mute but then when I hit it again it just stays on mute. The overdrive switch works fine. I thought it might have been the footswitch itself until I plugged in a lead on it's own into the input and that makes the mute function come on by itself. Even pulling the master volume out and back in doesn't affect it(only when the lead is in the input, if there's nothing in the input the amp works fine). Any ideas what could be causing this?

Are you using a stereo cable for the footswitch? If not,it wont work properly..it needs to be a stereo(two rings on the plug) cable to allow both functions to work...or it may be corrosion..

Its a moving part. A dirty switch likely. Common.
