Is that b for "bright"? I bought this cab a while ago, for cheap. It had a blown EVM 15L proline in it at the time. The rest of the cab works fine. I just put one of my 3015LFs in there, (knowing that the regular 3015 is likely a better match) and while the bottom end sounds good, I am left with the idea that this is a VERY bright cab. I need to play it with my other heads, as the Yorkie XS800H/Traynor 800 is a pretty bright head. I will try the Carvin B800 in my BRX212, as well as my AMP KD400. The plan is to use a V-amp pro and my IPR 1600. I am toying with biamping the cab with that rig.

Anyone else think this box is WAY bright sounding??

beautiful cab... yes it sounds bright because of 2x6" speakers i guess.. i use it for guitar and bass with separate preamps and my power monster 400+... the only thing is that it's 400watts RMS.. i wish there was a way of making it handle all of my amps power...

I love the tone on mine (loaded with a 3015 non-lf).

I run it with a Carvin B1500 (mostly set flat), and it gives a great clear, punchy tone. I prefer it over my Mesa 2X15 (also loaded with 3015's). Then again, I prefer a tone along the lines of Steve Harris.

I turn the tweeter off. It has enough hig-end without it.

The 1516"B" models stood for Bi-amp, they came with 3 separate inputs so you could choose to use the cab full range or top/bottom halves on separate channels. (the 1516 didn't have this Bi-amp future, It just had full range inputs)

I had a 1516BE road ready model that I thought was a very bright sounding cab. (the "BE" models were just like the "B", but simply substituted an Eden brand 10" speaker)

I think all three 1516 variants were available in the road ready versions like mine pictured below:
