Hello friends.
Seeking advice.
I'll buy a cab for my Mesa Boogie 400.
I have found two offers cabins used.
1 - 2x15 powerhouse. you use. price 600 euros.
2 - 1x12 (two units) neo powerhouse. 750 euros for the
two. They have little use.

If you were me, what would be your choice?
thanks.

It depends on what you want to do. If you play small coffee shop type shows, get the two 12s. If you play in places that have a bit more room go for the 2x15. I don't have the mesa boogie one, but i swear by mt Traynor 2x15.

Normally I need for all sorts of places.

I planned to buy the 1x12 (2) neo powerhouse. But I have read many opinions on this forum about the 2x15's powerhouse. All opinions are great about 2x15, opinions say it is the best option. After reading much about it, now I'm undecided.

I'd get the 2x15 personally.

I pair my Bass 400 with a 2x15 as a first choice. It absolutely slays.

Later on down the road you can always buy a tiny cab to use if you really need it for coffee shops, but quite frankly I don't bother firing up my big tube head for coffee shops. That's what cheap practice combo amps are for.

I own a pair of Mesa Powerhouse 115 cabs and they sound incredible. I would not hesitate to buy the 215 cab unless you are going to have trouble transporting it. The 112 Mesa cabs are not particularly light weight at 50 pounds each but would be more manageable to carry up a flight of stairs by yourself if this is something you expect to happen. You can't go wrong either way to be honest. Both very good choices.

I'd also go for the 215 if the size and weight does not bother you or becomes impractical for your gigs.

With a hybrid or SS head, I'd probably lean in favor of the two PH112's (great cabs!). But with the Bass 400, I really dig my Diesel 215. If the PH215 is fairly close to the old Diesel or Road Ready 2x15's, then I'd be all over it.

It is, and yeah - that's the way I'd go... but then again, I don't mind moving a 215 - and will always keep one around even though I mostly gig thru a PH610 or PH810...

Hello friends.
Thank you all for your posts.
This afternoon I went for the ph 2x15. Surprise!
The speakers made a funny noise and had stains on the
edges of the cones. And the cab was abused. : _ (
I have not purchased. I have spoken with the seller, I said it was
overpriced, because the condition was really bad.
So for now my goal is 2 1x12.
And I wait ever go on sale an ph 2x15.
Unfortunately European bassplayers are not beyond EBS. So
here is so difficult to find a 2x15 ph.
Personally I think my MB 400 crushes all EBS ... but this
is just my personal opinion.
I will inform you that the 2 1x12

That's too bad about the 215. I'm sure you'll get by with the 2-112s, but they just won't knock 'em dead like the 215.

Now, you could try trading one of your 112 for a 115 - I like the sound of a stack with 15 bottom and 12 top - that works!

CM

PS: Modular and easy to move too - go for it!

Here in Spain is hopeless.

I spent years looking for an old 2x15 RoadReady
I can assure you that I have not seen any for sale. If
want a 2x15 you have to buy new.

Another thing is EBS, Vietnamese Ampeg, Hartke, trace
elliots .. there are lots of them for sale forums
used.

But mesas... zilch

If you know a good alternative to a mesa boogie cab , please tell me.
Thanks

Those older Trace Elliot 2x15's (the ones with the four round ports) are pretty darned good heads, and would work quite well with the Bass 400, IME. Here's a shot of mine (along with my Diesel 2x15):

Mmmmm, kinda miss my Deisel 215 now- but I swapped it for the single 15 road ready version, as it's a better match for my Buster 210. Still, those Deisel 215's are something very special.
