I'm thinking about the Carbine M6 with the Powerhouse 215.

What do you think??

Does anyone own either the Carbine M6 or the Powerhouse 215, or both?

I own the M6 and run it through a SWR Goliath Sr.(pre Fender) and it crushes. Last night we played and my friend, who played bass for years and switched to guitar within the last few years, pulls me aside after we played and told me that my bass tone was "absolutely phenomenal". I played guitar for 23 plus years and switched to the bass last year so I'm still learning this bass tone thing but I gotta tell ya,I love the M6. I owned the Mesa BB 750 and sold it to buy the Carbine-it is just a fantastic, simple, straight ahead amp that is clean, articulate, fast and huge sounding. I don't think it would sound bad with any cabinet.

I played through a M6 and a Mesa 4X10 at a GC and it sounded great. I prefer 15's, so I will go with the 2X15.
I'm glad my nightmare with 'what amp do I want' is over. Finally.

I tried the Ampeg stuff and it did nothing for me at all. I also tried a lot of others and the Mesa stuff wins for me.

That combo would slay. Lots of M6 love here. Just not from me- I don't care for it.

OK. So, this is partly why I started this thread. What is it that you don't like about it?

You will probably be better off with the M 9 and the 2 x 15. I have the M 9... great stuff.

Is the M6 underpowered with the 2X15? The M9 is a bit more $$$.

Can I get the 'enclosed cabinet' with the M9 like the M6 can have as an option?
I don't want to have to buy racks and I don't want it just sitting on top of the cabinet.

The M9 is nice, and that EQ would probably better for tone shaping.
If I could get that cabinet around the head, that would be real cool and could be the difference for me. Among the added power and a few other bells and whistles on the amp....

What? The M6 and 2X15 or the M9 and 2X15?

Either one, probably.

You'd be good to go with either set up...

OK, I just got off the phone with The Bass Club in Chicago and they told me that the amp is available with the enclosed 'case' for the head. At $150.00 extra.
The M9 it is.
The salesperson that I talked with said that the M6 would be too underpowered with the 2X15 and the M9 is just that much better. So, it's the M9 and the 2X15 for my next rig.
TIMES TWO because I'm running STEREO!!

This will be phenominal.

Are you seriously going to use 4x15s and two M9s, or did I misread?

I have an M9.

One M9 and a 2X15 for each pickup.
I'm in stereo.

My rig is an M9 with a 2x15 Diesel - and LOVE the tone. I also have two Glockenklang 410's so my cab choices are as follows:

Small rooms - single 410
Medium rooms (most) - 2x15
Large or outdoor (rare) - 2x410 at 2 ohms (wowza)

Best tone is the 2x15. You'll never regret the M9 and it'll push anything out there.

Cheers & congrats!

Windows shatter... walls collapse... diapers needed.

BTW, I run a M6 with a PH 212 (at 4ohms) and it slays.

My rig is a Carbine m9 with enclosed case and a PH1x15. I get nothing but compliments on my tone. Against the advice of the scientists around here, I plan to add a PH2x10 to my rig. The musicians who use that combo as well as the tech support people at Mesa tell me that it's a killer combo. We'll see.
