Mesa/Boogie Buster Bass head

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a mesa/boogie buster bass head that i really love, but i have had it less than a year and it has already had two major issues.

this time around i turned it on last night and it started smoking out around the power/standby switches. fortunately i did not turn the standby off, but i'm not sure what could be happening.

has anyone had an issue like this before?

i don't know what's wrong with it, but i would not turn it on again and i'd take it into the shop at my earliest convenience. that is not good. might not be serious, might be serious, but it's not good.

I bought a Buster off ebay one time. The first time I turned it on, it started smoking and sparking. I sent it back and got a refund.

Had a similar issue with an SWR 750 - smoke pouring out of the power switch when it was turned on - and as far as my interweb searching has found it's happened to a few others. Turned out to be some component in the power switching system.

Either way, it's tech time for sure.

Get it on the bench, for sure.
