Does anyone have one of these things?
If so what do you think.
I am curious how much they weigh - i know they aren't a light weight combo but if they are sub 90lbs i might have to pick one up.

They are well over 100 lbs. Sound great, but moving them on anything other than a flat surface is not a recreational experience. They have skids on the back for sliding 'em into a vehicle.

They are heavy. I had a venture combo for a while and hurt myself moving it. I now use a PH 212 cab (which I can easily move myself) with a M6.

A hand truck is a lovely thing, but not half as lovely as the sound these little beauties make, IMHO.

Sweetwater says 114lbs, which sounds about right.

Honestly, with the built in wheels and handle, moving them isn't really a big deal unless you are going up and down stairs all the time (which occasionally stinks since I live on the third floor).

The tone is really outstanding. I'd consider my M6 combo one of the better sounding setups I've used. Really punchy and clear - made my last band sound better as a whole.

The only reasons I've considered moving mine is because I really like the tubey feel of the Walkabout, and the possibility of a more portable setup is attractive. Sometimes I go back and forth though, since the M6 combo just has so much volume on tap

Subscribed. I have a M6 on the way that I got in a trade deal. I played the 212 combo in local music store and thought it sounded a simply amazing - not always a reliable gauge but you never know.

Current thinking was:
1. Sell the M6 (original thinking)
2. Get the 212 cabinet and go for the 100 lb combo of doom.

I have the PH212 cabinet, which is close to the same enclosure--a touch more volume--as the one featured in the combo. The speakers sound amazing. I wouldn't give them up for any other cabinet.

I run mine 4 ohm with a Mark Bass LMIII, but I've tried them with an M6 that was at least as good or better (just more expensive and not as lightweight). If you can handle the weight of the combo, definitely get one. If not, get the separates. You won't be sorry.

Thanks. I need make sure this is not a GAS or semi-GAS induced decision as I already have a non-Mesa rig I quite like. I will say that I am on somewhat of a quest to be all-American and besides Am*&^, Mesa is about as all American as it gets.

Again subscribed... The 212 box with the M6 does in concept sound like a great way to go - a semi portable rig (wheels but heavy) that can cover a lot of gigging territory.

The PH212 is about 60lbs, which I find quite manageable given the terrific casters and handles.

The weight is what killed it when I first saw them. Around 60lbs is the max for a cab for me any more. That's the cusp of what I can comfortably move myself.

Get an M9...

and two of their marvellous little 1x12 neo cabs...that would be a GREAT modular setup.

Or better yet, an M9 and a pair of Bergs...now your talkin'!

Cheers,
Cameron

An M9 + Berg AE212 + AE112 would be a versatile (& probably great-sounding) setup as well.
