Those are both great heads. The tone is going to be pretty different, though. The M-Pulse will be more thick, warm & round, and the GK will be more articulate and clear. Both should have plenty of power, and both companies have very good customer service.

There's not much that could be added to Tom's response. It would be best if you could try them out, and see what they sound like. Otherwise, you're just guessing. I know if it were my decision, I'd buy the Mesa amp.

ooooh

The GK is the amp I would pick. Playing thru a couple of Eden 4x10's is bass nirvana.

I wonder how the GK tone set compares to the Mesa M6/Carbine?

Well, the Carbine line is closer to the GK tone than the M-Pulse line, but the Carbines are going to be a bit mid-scooped by comparison, with bigger, more luscious lows, and a sweeter high end. The general GK tone is going to be a bit tighter and brighter, with full, firm lows, punchy articulate mids, and crisp - but not overly hyped - highs.

Now, if you are talking the Fusion 550, that particular head (and the MB Fusion, as well) actually stacks up much more in line with the Carbines, as far as a basic 'flat' tone goes.
