Mesa Boogie Nomad 100

Hey guys, I've recently bought a Mesa Powerhouse 412 cab to pair with my Peavey Tour 700 amp, but would eventually like to switch to all Mesa gear.

I've found a Nomad 100 in excellent shape with a road case for $950. I think that's a pretty good deal considering the condition and age of tubes. Anyway, how do you guys think this would sound as a bass amp? I would like to run it mostly clean, with maybe a little bit of overdrive, but if I need a pedal for that, that's okay.

I plan on using this amp as part of my bass rig, not a studio rig. Thanks guys!

It should sound great with your cab, but if your band plays loud I think you'd be better off buying a Mesa 400+ for around the same price or less. When your playing loud the mid and higher register notes would sound really cool with lower powered tube amps like that, but you'll find your basses lower notes will loose definition and become a flabby overdriven mess.

I own (and have gigged) with several lower powered tube amps, I even modded my mesa 400+ to shut down some of its powertubes. (info in this thread: SWITCHABLE MAX OUTPUT MOD, FOR a 300/w TUBE AMP.. I ended up running my 400+ at full power at most all my gigs to get better lowend.
