but i have a 412 at 4 ohm for the big venues.
ps: i have my amp at mesa for a fix. lets see how it goes for me. |

So far I like what I am hearing out of it (I am running it with an Avatar TB153 and an Avatar B412 at 2ohms) I have a question...
What are the "problems" with this amp? I was in the local tech shop having one of my old bassman amps retubed and the guy started telling me there was a world of "problems" with the Titan.
I am bummed - 'cause I like this rig.

Titan was a great amp I just got the lemon of the bunch I am guessing. |

Pictured here-
Again- I really like the versatility of this amp but I need to know about reliability --

I love how it warmed the mids a little more, but I left a JJ in the driver socket as -so far- it sounded like the best biting tone in the driver.
My only complaint with the Mesa or JJ tubes (same thing) in the overdrive section was the added bassyness when kicking on the o/d. The vintage GE tunes smoothed all that out. |

Does any one run the amp on 2ohms?
The Mesa tech told me they run really hot but I figure there is a reason there is a toggle switch to get that load |

I will be running it at 4 ohms. Should I be concerned about it overheating, and send it in to have the updates done? Or are they generally ok without them?

You chose an interesting place to ask for unbiased opinions. :P

Looking forward to tomorrow at rehearsal, so I can use it in a full band setting (my Eden rig is there, so I'll get a chance to compare the Mesa to the Eden then, too).

The Mesa tech told me they run really hot but I figure there is a reason there is a toggle switch to get that load | I have run miTitan with two 4 ohm cabs, thus a total ohm load of 2 ohms for many gigs, and only had a problem of the amp shutting down temporarily once when it was in a 4 space rack ...not much room to breath so I have never kept the amp so Kooped up since when running at 2 ohms...Peace...DAcat
