| | | | The TV15 does vintage tone very very well. Turn the deep and Bright switches on and it gets a pretty good modern tone as well. It doesn't have a tweeter, but I find that in a band mix, most of the upper frequencies just get lost anyway. Great amp all the way around. By the time you buy the WA and add the extension cab, the WA just is way over priced for the type of gigs and use that you are talking about. |

I run mine in a custom blue bronco 8 ohm walkabout. It only pulls 185 watts like this, it still snarls and growls and speaks however I want it too, always sounding like you have the devil in a leash ready to break off his chain. I could add an 8 ohm ext cab, but I don't need to. The only amp that even comes close is the Titan, but not enough people could handle that beast. I have what I have been told is the last Titan ever produced, made just for me in a purple bronco head case . Forget the fender, find yourself a used walkabout combo they sell here for $900-1200 all the time. Get yourself an amplifier, not some vintage reissue toy fender is hawking this year. |

Unless you're looking for a practice amp, I'd look elsewhere. I agree with StingrayXXXXX, the Mesa head is awesome.

| | | | I use my TV15 on 95% of my shows. It is truly a great amp. The only shows it has not worked on, is a few outdoors shows where the rider only provided tops with no subs for the P.A.... Those shows are few and far between. |

My Mesa Wakabout is a 12" it might get a little fuzzy at high volume, but it's a natural vintage Tube like overdrive, not like that fender space heater that sounded like bad faked zoom hd overdrive. |

If I wanted more volume I would probably upgrade to a Fender Super Bassman and 410 cab. | Or you could get the Walkabout combo and then just buy a 4-10 cab for bigger gigs. The head just pops right out of that combo. No need for two heads. (This coming from a guy who owns 5...... HA!)

I think there have been some very subtle changes in the guts but nothing significant though. Mine is an older one with the silver face plate and burgundy accents (I think). But it sounds amazing and puts out a ton of volume.
Ooooooops. Edit to add. This is a response to Nathan a couple posts up. sugarmagnolia squeezed in while I was typing.

As far as a previous comment about Fender hawking space heaters above, we'll just agree to disagree. The TV has a character of its own, you either like it or you don't.

They're very solidly built.

They're very solidly built. | +1. I've been using mine for nearly six years after buying it as a "floor model" at GC and haven't had a single issue.
Also, if you buy one that's less than five years old, it's still got some user-transferable warranty left on it.
