Closest I've found is an SVT but no one seems to agree that any amp is THAT close. |

Thanks!
EDIT - or better question, major differences between the Mpulse 600 and 750 Big Block ? | I've never A/B compared them, but the Big Block and the Titan are both supposed to be in the same tonal realm as the Walkabout (the M-Pulse 600 oddly enough doesn't really sound the same at all in my experience). People that have owned both the Big Block and Walkabout have said that the noticeable change in headroom between those two amps is fairly minimal, so the Titan is your best bet as far as existing amps with noticeably more headroom (though it is large, heavy, and also recently discontinued!).

I think the BigBlock 750 is close too, but with a bit more "grindy" in its tone than the WA.
Not sure why the MPulse600 design is not like this, or if it is, why it does not sound like a 600w WA, but it does not, as I have tried it without any WA joy.
good luck. and welcome to the WA Mega Thread pt.7 too cool

Great tone has never been so easy to get!

I find that any of these basses can sound just OK through some amps, yet the WA works very well with them all.
Have had similar experiences with say drums and different recording consoles; some are good for a particular sound but only a few work great for all types of projects. |

While I'd take a 600 watt Walkabout,
I'd sell my neighbors kids kidneys for a Walkabout 900.
Seriously:
it's time.
Where's the retort to the Streamliner 900?
We *need* a 2 ohm stable Walkabout 9. Quote:

It just loves to be thrashed!! It is also one of the most tonally responsive bass amps to dynamics I've had the pleasure to play through, and without question, more than any other SS or hybrid amp in that regard. I think the Titan was the closest family member to the WA, but because of the huge reserves of power, it just didn't quite "do it" in the same way. Be careful what you ask for... you might not like it!
