bought a titan a week or so ago and today i got a powerhouse 412 cabinet. here are pictures but i have a question. my powerhouse has the triangular ports and the control network, 4 ohm cabinet BUT IT IS RATED 1000 WATT. i thought every 412 powerhouse was 1200W. how can this be? can anyone explain where the remaining 200W went? not that i need them as i have plenty but i am curious with this.
regards,
hope anyone can answer me this. another thing is that i have the second 412 powerhouse ever built, the serial number is 2. my titan is serial number SV-160.
ok, now the pictures |

By the looks of that cab, it's a little older, ('06ish maybe), and only the newer black grilled 412's are rated @ 1200 watts. Not to worry though, those 2 pair up perfectly, and should provide absolutely killer tone. Congrats.

by the way, this control already proved to be useful as I was getting a lot of treble when popping my music man stingray. could have cut the treble in the bass or in the amp but found the option useful.
regards to all of you |

Of course this one being so early in the 412 series (#2...wow!) could have the very first design 12" PH speakers, and then Mesa must've updated them to handle another 50w.
As said, you won't even get close to cranking 1000w out of the Titan, you won't miss 200w power handling in that cabinet.
Amazing rig there, congrats!

| | | | Gorgeous rig man! I own a PH412 myself and just love it. For interest sake, I also own a pair of PH115 cabs and both are rated at 400 watts even though the latest versions are 600 watts. Mine have silver grills and are identical except one has the triangle port and the player control network and the other one has a round port only. They pretty much sound exactly the same to each other and I think they are incredible cabs. Not sure if the 600 watt version would sound any different.

Now that I see it with the Titan I think the silver grill suits it more than a black grill would. You were after black right, funny how things work out for the better.
Killer Rig, Awesome, Congrats |

Amazing rig there, congrats! | thank you for your report. as i said, i was curious as to why was this model rated 1000W and being the #2 is probably the reason for that. but as you said, i will never need so much power so i am fine with it.
one thing i would like to have is the slip cover and it wasn't available can anyone tell me where i can find one? this will be useful to prevent at least scratches from transportation. Quote:
