Sign in to disble this ad
I just acquired an M9 and am looking to upgrade the speakers I use which are 2 x Bag End S 15d...I love Bag End Speakers but I am thinking that they might not match well with the power output from the M9 and I may do some damage....
I am considering two Powerhouse 15 cabs or a PH 2 x 10 and a PH 15.
Anybody pairing Mesa heads and cabs.. |

I have the PH412 and it sounds incredible, but it is heavy and most of the time a 212 would cover everything.. and if you really needed the extra umph... add the other 212 and watch the walls buckle... seriously the M9 is a WICKED amp... what a great start to tonal nirvana |

| | | | I own an M9, a pair of Powerhouse 115's and a Powerhouse 412. The 115's sound fantastic with the M9 and are in my opinion, fairly quick and punchy sounding cabs. When paired together, they are actually more efficient then my 412 cab and they are freakin loud.
Having said that, the PH412 cabinet is pure magic! With the M9 you are pumping 900 watts into a cab rated for 1200. Its tight, focused, balanced, deep and loud! Doesn't get much better in my opinion!

Go with a 4x10 or 6x10

The PH 212 is a really top shelf cab and 2 of them are serious.

I have a Carbine M6 2x12" combo on order; when I played through it, I practically leveled the music store. It THUNDERS, yet has punchy highs and mids. With the additional output of the M9, people on other planets will be calling you, telling you to turn it down.

I agree the mesa stuff is heavy, but well worth it IMHO. |

| | | | I recently picked up a used Epifani UL-2 410 cab and it is just gorgeous sounding with the M9. The cab is only 56 pounds and handles 1000 watts. Very nice pairing but my ears still prefer the tonal qualities of the Mesa 412. But 56 pounds versus 137 is something to consider!
