| Mesa M-Pulse (as a preamp) => QSC Power amp.

As stated in a previous thread that I started (so much has changed that I wanted start anew) I have been deciding on a system to power two 2x10 Bag End D10BX-D cabinets. In the previous post I stated that I had rewired them to 16 ohms for a total impedance of 8 ohms (M-Pulse could not handle 2-ohm load) but that my M-Pulse could not provide enough power into the 8-ohm load (maxed, in danger of clipping). Since then, I have re-wired the cabinets back to their original 4-ohm impedance.
Specs on each of the Bag Ends:
- Power handling: 400 continuous / 800 program
- Impedance: 4 ohms
- Sensitivity 1Watt/1Meter (dBspl): 100
- Frequency Response: 40-20kHz
Here is what I have decided to do (unless TB members talk me out of it):
- Purchase a QSC PLX1104 (provides two channels of output at 500W - 4 ohms); Net Weight only 13 Lbs! - Attach each speaker to each individual channel.
- Use Mesa M-Pulse as a preamp. until I can afford a separate one (topic for another day).
- Choose one of the following methods to connect to a QSC poweramp.
1) M-Pulse's slave => QSC amplifier
2) M-Pulse's variable DI => QSC amplifier
3) Effects out => QSC amplier (I do not use rack effects)
Which connection will provide the full use of my Mesa's EQ & compressor features?
Which connection will present the least amount of risk of overdriving the poweramp?
Note: I plan on using either the Mesa's DI output or the slave-amp out for connecting to the house system (which-ever is not used in the aforementioned patching).
I'd like TB user's perspectives. I do plan to call Mesa (closed today) and talk to a tech. person.
